Franciacorta brings Lombardy’s lakeside hills to traditional-method sparkling wine, from crisp blends to creamy Satèn and expressive rosé.
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc are representative grapes; permitted blends vary.
Citrus, apple and bread-like notes with fine bubbles and lees-derived texture; sweetness varies.
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay.
Red berries, citrus and pastry-like notes with persistent bubbles; sweetness varies.
Franciacorta DOCG is a sparkling-wine identity, with the second fermentation taking place in the bottle. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are central, with Pinot Blanc and a limited role for Erbamat permitted in appropriate categories. Satèn is a white-grape expression with gentler pressure and its own rules; rosé gives Pinot Noir a more visible role. Sweetness terms and time on the lees help distinguish individual bottles. Nearby Curtefranca identifies still wines, offering a different way into the same wider landscape.
