Blackcurrant, herbs and firm tannins, gaining savoury depth with age.
Plum and dark berries with a rounded palate; winemaking can add smoky or spicy notes.
Simonsberg-Stellenbosch is a smaller origin within Stellenbosch, distinct from Simonsberg-Paarl on the other side of the mountain. The slope, exposure and producer still make a difference within the ward.
