Alto Livenza IGT offers small-producer discoveries across the Friuli–Veneto border, with local white grapes and savoury reds.
Friulano.
Apple, pear and almond-like notes with a dry, gently rounded finish.
Plum and red berries with herbal detail and supple tannins.
Alto Livenza is an interregional IGT, distinct from both Lison-Pramaggiore DOC and the much broader Trevenezie IGT. Its flexible rules allow several grape wines and blends, including still and gently sparkling expressions. Tai or Friulano provides a useful white introduction, while Merlot and Refosco offer red alternatives. The IGT name describes a permitted origin and approach, not a promise that every winery uses the same grapes.
