About Umbria

Umbria wine country leads from hilltop towns and the Tiber valley to lakeside vineyards and a remarkable collection of local grapes. Sagrantino gives Montefalco its deeply structured reds, in both dry and sweet passito expressions, while Montefalco Rosso follows a different, Sangiovese-led blend. Trebbiano Spoletino brings a distinctive white-wine voice around Spoleto; Grechetto offers further discoveries in Todi and the surrounding hills. Orvieto introduces fresh white blends from a protected area that also reaches into Lazio. Near Lake Trasimeno, explore the local Grenache tradition called Gamay del Trasimeno. Smaller DOCs and IGTs add many other perspectives. Follow the full origin, grape and wine type to discover the diversity behind this compact central Italian region.
