Torgiano Rosso Riserva offers a Sangiovese-led Umbrian red with an aged-wine identity distinct from the broader Torgiano DOC.
Sangiovese leads; permitted supporting red varieties vary by producer.
Cherry, plum and savoury spice with a dry palate, fresh acidity and firm structure.
Torgiano Rosso Riserva DOCG centres on Sangiovese, with other permitted red grapes able to contribute. Its riserva requirements distinguish it from the many wine types under Torgiano DOC. The name identifies a protected origin and ageing category rather than one producer’s recipe. Compare vintage and cellar approach to discover how red fruit, freshness, tannin and savoury development come together in a particular bottle.
