Kaapzicht

South Africa

Kaapzicht is a fourth-generation, family-owned estate in Stellenbosch’s Bottelary region, where the Steytler family has been custodians for almost eight decades. Danie Steytler Jnr oversees both viticulture and winemaking, continuing the family’s connection to the property. The estate includes historic vineyards, notably a 1947 Chenin Blanc vineyard described as one of South Africa’s oldest. Its wines include Chenin Blanc, Pinotage Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc and red blends, with the Steytler Range representing the estate’s pinnacle. The vineyards are predominantly planted to red varieties, alongside distinctive old-vine white grapes.
