Qupé is a California producer founded in 1982 by Bob Lindquist, with a long focus on cool-climate Central Coast vineyards in areas including Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria, Santa Ynez, and Sta. Rita Hills. The wines emphasize Rhône varieties and Chardonnay from sandy, gravelly, calcareous, and rocky soils, with an approach centered on terroir, balance, and natural acidity. Notes reference biodynamic farming practices, organic sourcing from Bien Nacido Vineyard, block-by-block vineyard work, night harvesting, and sustainably farmed fruit. In October 2024, Andrew Murray Vineyards acquired the Qupé brand and assets. Qupé is named after the California poppy and is known for balanced, site-driven wines shaped by the cool coastal climate and long growing season of the Central Coast.
