Bodegas Avancia

Spain

Founded in 2007 by Jorge Ordóñez, Bodegas Avancia is a boutique winery in Valdeorras, Galicia, owned and operated by Ordóñez as part of Grupo Jorge Ordóñez. It works exclusively with Godello from very old, organically farmed, dry-farmed bush vines on slate and quartz soils. The vineyards are fully hand-cultivated, and grapes are hand-harvested in limited quantities. Avancia follows a low-intervention approach, fermenting in small batches in 500–600-litre French puncheons and aging the wines in a combination of new and older oak barrels. No formal sustainability certification is mentioned.
