Gurrieri

Italy

Gurrieri is a family-run estate in Chiaramonte Gulfi and Comiso, in southeastern Sicily, within the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG area. The Gurrieri family has farmed vineyards since the 1960s, with the winery founded in 1997 and bottling begun in 2010; today Giovanni Gurrieri leads as owner and winemaker alongside his family. The estate farms certified organic vineyards with a strong focus on sustainability and respect for nature. In the vineyards, native Sicilian varieties such as Nero d’Avola, Frappato, Grillo, and Moscato are central, alongside Syrah. The hilly Iblei landscape, calcareous-clay soils, and ventilated Mediterranean climate shape the wines. In the cellar, Gurrieri emphasizes manual harvesting, gentle pressing, and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, combining traditional family roots with a modern winery.
