André Perret is a family-owned domaine in France's Rhône Valley, founded in the early 1980s by André Perret, a biology graduate who returned to his village to convert the family farm from fruit trees to vineyards. Managed today by his daughter Marie Perret, the estate spans about 13 hectares, including steep, terraced slopes with granite, mica, schist, and quartz soils. It focuses on Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and other varietal wines, with an emphasis on terroir expression, low yields, hand-harvesting, and Burgundian-style precision. Sustainable practices include manual soil work, minimal pesticide use, and annual ploughing, though no organic or biodynamic certifications are noted. The domaine owns two exceptional parcels: 'Coteau de Chéry,' with a history dating to Roman times, and 'Clos Chanson,' planted with old Viognier vines since 1986. Wines are aged with limited oak (up to 65% new and older barrels) and can age for 12 years or more.
