Bodegas y Vinedos Valderiz

Spain

Bodegas y Viñedos Valderiz is a family-owned estate in Roa, Ribera del Duero, established by the Esteban family in 1997 after generations of viticulture. Brothers Ricardo and Juan Esteban lead winemaking and vineyard work, supported by their family. The vineyards are certified organic and farmed biodynamically, without herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, with sustainability also reflected in water-efficient winery design and solar energy. Valderiz works across numerous small plots and emphasizes low yields and careful vineyard dedication. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentations, long cold macerations, minimal sulphur and no added oenological products aim to let the fruit and terroir lead. Concrete tanks and varied-size barrels support restrained extraction and long maturation, producing elegant, silky and complex wines.
