San Leonino is a historic farm in Castellina in Chianti, in the border territory between Florence and Siena. Part of the Bertani Domains group and owned by the Angelini family since 1994, it focuses on Chianti Classico and a strong belief in Sangiovese. Its vineyards lie within the historic core of Chianti Classico, at 300–430 metres, with southeastern to southwestern exposure and soils combining clay, limestone, stones and alberese. The estate’s production philosophy emphasizes limited, artisan-attended wines that express their territory, with an austere, elegant style recalling authentic Chianti Classico tradition. Its range includes four monovarietal Sangiovese wines, including Chianti Classico Riserva Monsenese and Gran Selezione Salivolpe.
