Vigna Vecchia

Marchesi di Ravarino is the registered brand of Soc. agr. I Monti di A. Marchesi, based in Ravarino, Modena. The vineyards have always been farmed organically, with hedges, woodland, grass cover and nectar-producing plants supporting biodiversity and beneficial insects. Grapes are hand-harvested and yields are deliberately limited to 100–120 quintals per hectare. Based at the historic Podere Castel Crescente, or “I Monti,” a site associated with viticultural potential since Roman times, the winery produces only its own wines. Winemaking follows traditional and natural principles, including ancestral and classic methods for sparkling wines, with minimal intervention intended to preserve varietal character while using modern technology where appropriate.
