Family-owned and operated at the Neudeggerhof in Wagram, Niederösterreich, since 1709, Weingut Mehofer–Neudeggerhof represents ten generations of Mehofer stewardship. The estate has farmed organically since 1992 and focuses on long-term sustainability through diverse vineyard cover, lightweight bottles, on-site electricity and heat generation, and PIWI varieties. Its vineyards lie in Wagram’s loess soils, with particular emphasis on the Wadenthal site and traditional Grüner and Roter Veltliner. Wines are made with practices including whole-cluster pressing, predominantly indigenous yeasts, fine-lees ageing, and mainly stainless-steel maturation alongside used Austrian oak. The family also offers tastings and hospitality at the estate and became the first winery to fill Austria’s new reusable wine bottle in 2026.
