La Cave du Vieil Armand is a winegrower-owned cooperative in Soultz-Wuenheim, southern Alsace, bringing together around 60–80 families, many farming their vineyards for more than four generations. Its vineyards around Wuenheim, Cernay and Guebwiller include the Grand Cru Ollwiller and are rooted mainly in clay-limestone and marl-sandstone soils under a mild climate. The cooperative produces Alsace wines and Crémant d’Alsace from all seven regional grape varieties. It has held HVE 3 certification since 2019, while some members began organic conversion in 2016; agro-ecological measures include biodiversity plantings, beehives, nest boxes and winter sheep grazing. The estate also encompasses Château Ollwiller, one of only two Alsatian properties authorised to use the “Château” designation, with wines noted for fruit, aromatic expression, liveliness and minerality.
