La Palazzetta

Italy

La Palazzetta is a family-run estate in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, southeast of Montalcino, founded by Flavio Fanti and Carla Visconti and now co-owned and operated by Flavio and their son Luca. The family oversees the vineyard work and winemaking, continuing a history that began with one hectare of Sangiovese. Its organically certified vineyards, from the 2018 vintage, lie at 365 metres on calcareous, stony soils. The estate produces Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino, Sant’Antimo Rosso and olive oil. Native yeasts, hand-harvested grapes, controlled fermentation and French oak ageing shape the wines. La Palazzetta follows a strongly ecological approach, with natural fertilisation, green energy, lightweight and recycled packaging, inert-gas bottling and no filtration, alongside vegan-process certification.
