La Gironda is a family-owned estate in Piedmont’s UNESCO-listed Langhe-Roero and Monferrato area. Founded in 2000 after the family shifted from producing winemaking machinery to wine, it is run by Susanna Galandrino and her husband Alberto with the wider family participating in all vineyard and cellar work. Production is limited-scale and vertically integrated, relying almost entirely on estate-grown fruit from historic vineyards in Nizza and Chiesavecchia. Sustainability is central: the estate has been ISO 14001 certified since 2004, uses only copper and sulphur treatments, avoids herbicides, and employs manual vineyard management. Winemaking follows natural, simple methods to express terroir, focusing on Barbera for Nizza DOCG and Barbera d’Asti, alongside Nebbiolo, Moscato, and Brachetto.
