Château Palmer is a historic Margaux estate founded in 1814 by British officer Charles Palmer and later developed by the Pereire brothers. Owned by the Mähler-Besse and Sichel families, it is managed by Thomas Duroux. The 55–66 ha vineyard, on gravelly soils deposited by the Garonne, is farmed biodynamically as a holistic ecosystem, integrating livestock, agroforestry, and market gardening. The unique blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a touch of Petit Verdot, is vinified plot-by-plot and aged 20–22 months. The estate produces about 8,000–10,000 cases of grand vin annually, alongside Alter Ego, emphasizing terroir expression, sustainability, and community.
