Château Lagrange is a historic Third Growth estate in Saint-Julien, classified in 1855, with origins reaching back centuries and ownership by Japanese investors since 1983. Its vineyard lies in a single continuous block on two Günzian gravel ridges, surrounded by parkland, woods and a lake, and the estate emphasizes biodiversity and a respectful ecosystem approach. Winemaking is notably precise, with detailed parcel mapping, hand harvesting, double selection, plot-by-plot vinification in temperature-controlled vats, and guidance from consultant oenologist Éric Boissennot alongside Matthieu Bordes and Benjamin Vimal. The style is classically Saint-Julien: elegant, distinguished and structured, with strong ageing potential, shaped by a philosophy that balances tradition, precision and innovation.
