Domaine des Rochelles

France

Domaine des Rochelles is a family-run estate in Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets, in the Anjou vineyard of the Loire Valley, owned and farmed by the Lebreton family since the 19th century and now led by the fifth generation, Jean-Hubert Lebreton and his wife Christelle. The domaine’s vineyards lie in the Anjou Villages Brissac and Coteaux de l’Aubance appellations, on varied soils derived from Anjou schist. Since 2012, Jean-Hubert has pursued more environmentally respectful vineyard practices, including soil work and reduced phytosanitary inputs, with the aim of organic farming achieved in 2015. The estate focuses on matching varieties to terroir, using Sauvignon and Chardonnay for freshness, Chenin for mineral, balanced and sweet wines, and Cabernet Sauvignon for mature, structured expressions.
