Consorzio Tutela Vino Custoza, based in Villa Venier in Sommacampagna, promotes and protects the Custoza DOC, established in 1971 and produced in the hills between Verona and Lake Garda. Its work connects local producers with the denomination’s morainic soils, temperate climate, and distinctive blend of native white grapes. Custoza is known for delicate floral and fruity aromas, freshness, savouriness, and minerality, with Superiore and Riserva versions offering greater complexity and ageing potential. The Consorzio supports integrated, increasingly biological and environmentally sustainable vineyard practices, including mechanical weed control and sexual confusion against grape moths, while providing agronomic training for members. Alongside technical guidance, it organizes tastings, masterclasses, fairs, and enotourism initiatives to communicate the area’s history, landscape, and producer expertise in Italy and abroad.
