Château l’Etoile de Salles is a family-focused estate in the western part of Lalande de Pomerol, where David and Jean-Claude Dubois welcome visitors. Its 10 hectares lie on ancient gravel soils over an iron-rich subsoil, which contributes richness to the wines. The vineyard is planted with 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The family emphasizes tradition alongside modernity, with daily hands-on work including manual harvesting, selective grape sorting, soil cultivation, considered treatments and environmentally respectful products. Yields are managed through short pruning, green harvesting and leaf removal to encourage gradual ripening and optimal exposure. The estate describes its wines as authentic and produced from naturally cultivated vines.
