L’Étoile Vin Jaune

White

Savagnin.

Walnut, spice and a dry, layered finish shaped by long voile ageing.

L’Étoile Vin de Paille

White

Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard.

Dried fruit, honey and candied citrus with concentrated sweetness.

Where it grows: Around L’Étoile, Plainoiseau, Quintigny and Saint-Didier near Lons-le-Saunier.

L’Étoile’s name evokes its surrounding hills and star-shaped fossils. The appellation covers white wines, including dry Vin Jaune and sweet Vin de Paille. Poulsard can contribute to the dried-grape wine even though it is a dark-skinned grape.
