Chardonnay, Savagnin.
Citrus and orchard fruit in topped-up examples, or nuttier, savoury depth with voile ageing.
Savagnin.
Walnut, spice and a dry, layered finish shaped by long voile ageing.
Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard.
Dried fruit, honey and candied citrus with concentrated sweetness.
L’Étoile’s name evokes its surrounding hills and star-shaped fossils. The appellation covers white wines, including dry Vin Jaune and sweet Vin de Paille. Poulsard can contribute to the dried-grape wine even though it is a dark-skinned grape.
