Aragón wines offer an inviting journey through Garnacha country, from the slopes below Moncayo to high vineyards around Calatayud. Campo de Borja and Calatayud are rewarding starting points for expressive Garnacha reds; Cariñena adds its own mix of Garnacha, the namesake Cariñena grape and fresh whites. Further north, Somontano brings Pyrenean foothill vineyards, local Moristel and Parraleta, and familiar varieties such as Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer. These four origins have distinct landscapes and wine traditions. Follow the denomination and grape rather than expecting a single regional style: Aragón also makes lively rosés and characterful whites alongside its better-known reds.
