Citrus and orchard fruit with a dry, textured finish.
Yamhill-Carlton is a distinct AVA nested in Willamette Valley. Its rolling vineyard hills are associated with old marine-sedimentary soils, with elevation and exposure varying among sites. Pinot Noir is a useful first exploration, while Chardonnay gives a white comparison. The AVA identifies origin and does not prescribe a single grape or flavour.
