Sierras de Málaga opens a mountain-and-coast wine journey through still whites, rosés and reds, including local Romé.
Romé.
An opportunity to discover a local red grape; fruit, structure and oak influence depend on the producer rather than a compulsory regional recipe.
Still white wines with fruit and texture shaped by vineyard and cellar choices; oak ageing is an option rather than a defining requirement.
Sierras de Málaga is a separate PDO from Málaga’s traditional sweet-wine designation. Its still wines draw on both local and international grapes across a varied province. Ronda is an important inland reference point, while other vineyards lie closer to the Mediterranean. Compare grape and named origin: the broad designation covers several landscapes and does not imply one altitude, soil or blend.
Sierras de Málaga DO. 1 wine in Manitoba.
