Côtes de Montravel offers a sweet white-wine perspective on the western Dordogne, with ripe fruit balanced by freshness.
Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle.
Ripe pear, citrus peel and flowers with sweetness and a fresh finish.
Côtes de Montravel is a protected white-wine origin with a defined sweetness range. Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle form the principal grape family, with other permitted contributions governed by the specification. It differs from dry Montravel white and the richer sweet identity of Haut-Montravel. Those similar names are useful style clues, rather than interchangeable spellings.
