Pigato
Riviera Ligure di Ponente offers Pigato, Vermentino and distinctive local reds across western Liguria.
Pigato.
Fragrant citrus and herbal notes with a fuller, gently savoury palate; the producer shapes texture and ageing.
Grenache.
Ripe berry fruit and a generous texture; this is the local Grenache route.
This broad DOC contains several named grape types and more specific subzones. Pigato and Vermentino provide contrasting white-wine discoveries, while Rossese and Granaccia open red routes. Granaccia is the local Grenache name, rather than Alicante Bouschet. Read the grape and any subzone on the label to understand the bottle; the regional name alone does not prescribe one blend.
