Westerhold Family Vineyards

United States

Westerhold Family Vineyards is a small, family-owned estate in Bennett Valley within Sonoma County’s Sonoma Coast AVA, owned by John and Sharon Westerhold. After moving from Los Angeles to Sonoma County in 2006, the family began farming their own vineyard and crafting limited-production wines. The roughly five-acre estate is sustainably farmed, with Fish-Friendly Farming certification noted, and is planted primarily to Pinot Noir alongside Chardonnay and Syrah. Its elevated, well-drained mountain benchland site benefits from morning sunlight, coastal cooling breezes and fog. Winemaker Russell Bevan has worked with the family since the inaugural 2007 vintage, producing terroir-driven wines intended to express the estate’s intensity and vintage variation. Sales are limited, with tastings by appointment and distribution through a mailing list and select Northern California outlets.
