Picollo Ernesto is a third-generation, family-owned estate in Gavi, Piedmont, founded by Lorenzo Picollo in 1945 and now operated by Gianlorenzo Picollo, with Ernesto Picollo involved as steward. The estate farms approximately 9 hectares of Cortese on stony clay-marl soils at 260 metres. Its organic viticulture avoids herbicides, with grapes harvested by hand. In the cellar, wines are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel without malolactic fermentation, reflecting a precise, hands-on approach to expressing the estate’s Gavi vineyards.
