Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy

France

Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy is a sixth-generation family estate in Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy, rooted in the region since 1820. Jean-Louis Chavy owns the domaine and leads the winemaking, while his son Paul Chavy runs a separate négociant line. The estate focuses on Chardonnay from multiple Puligny-Montrachet parcels. Its approach centers on low yields, hand-harvesting, natural yeasts, minimal cellar intervention, and restrained new oak use of about 20%. While the domaine has no formal sustainability certification, its low-intervention methods reflect an eco-conscious, artisanal philosophy.
