Paul Jaboulet Aîné

France

Paul Jaboulet Aîné, founded in 1834 in Tain l'Hermitage, is a historic Rhône Valley estate with over a hundred hectares across the region's major appellations. Since 2006, under Caroline Frey, the estate has transitioned to organic and biodynamic viticulture, achieving full organic certification in 2016. The entire vineyard is cultivated with a focus on regenerating the environment and expressing terroir. The estate demonstrates a strong commitment to biodiversity, establishing dedicated refuges like the 7-hectare Clos Gounon and the 1.4-hectare Domaine Raymond Roure sanctuary. Harvest is manual, with meticulous sorting, and winemaking employs gentle methods and diverse vessels tailored to each cuvée. The estate views viticulture as a long-term endeavor, experimenting with canopy management to adapt to climate change while caring for century-old vines.
