Domaine Michel Noëllat

France

Domaine Michel Noëllat is a family-run estate in Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, founded in the 19th century by Félix Noëllat and now in the hands of sixth-generation siblings Sophie and Sébastien Noëllat. Farming follows a traditional, reasoned, minimal-intervention approach, with herbicides avoided, manual harvests, green harvesting, and limited vineyard inputs, though the domaine is not certified organic or biodynamic. In the cellar, fruit is hand-sorted, reds see cold maceration and aging in French oak, while whites are fermented in tank or barrel depending on the appellation. The estate combines long family continuity with thoughtful modernization, including a gravity-fed stone cellar and temperature-controlled vat room.
