Domaine Denis Mortet

France

Domaine Denis Mortet is a family estate in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy, rooted in the Mortet family since 1956 and now run by Laurence Mortet with her children, Arnaud and Clémence, after Denis Mortet’s death in 2006. Arnaud leads the winemaking with a focus on authenticity, respect for soil and fruit, and a classic style marked by freshness, silkiness, and length. Farming follows lutte raisonnée, with no chemical fertilizers or weed-killers since 1996, manual vineyard work, reduced ploughing, grass cover, and ongoing organic and biodynamic trials. In the cellar, the domaine uses indigenous yeasts, increasing whole-cluster fermentation, low sulfur, gentle extraction, and restrained new oak.
