Castro Ventosa

Castro Ventosa is a family-owned winery in Valtuille de Abajo, Bierzo, with the Pérez family linked to local viticulture since 1752. Working entirely with estate vineyards, including old Mencía vines over 85 years of age and some centenarian parcels, the estate focuses on expressing the character of individual sites such as Viña Vivo and Villegas through village and paraje wines. Winemaking is led by Raúl Pérez and follows a minimal-intervention approach: hand-worked, non-irrigated vineyards, native yeasts, whole-cluster fermentation, extended maceration, aging in used French oak, and no fining or filtration. The wines reflect a strong parcel-based philosophy rooted in the historic vineyards of Bierzo.
