Vittorio Bera & Figli

Italy

Vittorio Bera & Figli is a family-owned estate in Canelli, Piedmont, managed by the Bera lineage since 1785. The estate’s steep south–southeast-facing vineyards are planted exclusively to Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains on limestone-rich marl soils of ancient oceanic origin. Organic practices date to 1964, with certification since 2000; the vines are worked by hand without chemicals, using cover crops and naturally low yields. Grapes are manually harvested and rigorously sorted, then fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfites, and no fining or filtration. The estate was the first in Canelli to bottle Moscato and achieved the first DOCG Canelli classification for Moscato in 2023. Winemaking is led by Gianluigi, Alessandra, and Vittoria Bera, with a focus on ripe, concentrated fruit balanced by high acidity.
