Adega Manuel Formigo is a family-run estate in Beade, within Ribeiro’s Valle del Avia in Galicia, where Manuel Formigo owns and makes the wines. Working exclusively with grapes from the family’s own vineyards, the estate farms granite-rich parcels planted mainly to native Ribeiro varieties, including Treixadura, Godello, Torrontés, Loureira and Albariño. Farming is described as sustainable, though not certified. The Finca Teira wines are made with a restrained approach: separate fermentation by variety and parcel, stainless steel, neutral yeasts, low-pressure pressing and no malolactic fermentation. Manuel took over in 2006, and the winery built in 2013 combines technical training with the family’s long vineyard experience and traditional roots.
