Domaine François Buffet

France

Domaine François Buffet is a long-established family estate in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, in Buffet family hands since 1692 and now run by Marc-Olivier Buffet. The domaine works with a strong focus on terroir and low-intervention farming, avoiding herbicides, insecticides and anti-rot sprays, with hand harvesting, natural compost, grass cover and close attention to soil health. Some parcels are farmed biodynamically, with practices such as horse ploughing and indicator-plant observation also noted. Winemaking continues in a traditional spirit in the estate’s historic 18th-century cellars, with limited new oak used to let the vineyard character speak clearly.
