Domaine de Suremain

France

Domaine de Suremain is a historic, family-run estate in Mercurey, Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise, where the de Suremain family has been established for seven generations. Yves and Loïc de Suremain farm 18 hectares devoted exclusively to Mercurey, producing both red and white wines from village and premier cru sites. Loïc joined his parents in 2005 and has guided the wines toward greater finesse, freshness, fruit expression, and consistency while respecting each terroir. The domaine practices lutte raisonnée, adapts vineyard work to the vintage, replants parcels gradually, and harvests by hand in small crates. In the cellar, wines are vinified cru by cru in open wooden vats and aged in oak, including a modest proportion of new barrels. Reds emphasize the joyful character of Pinot Noir and the fruit-driven identity of Mercurey.
