RAÍNA is a Montefalco, Umbria winery founded in 2002 by chef and vine grower Francesco Mariani, who works with Andrea Mattioli. Its vineyards are farmed biodynamically, a practice followed since 2012, and the estate is certified organic by Codex. Vineyard work is manual, with no chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or synthetic pesticides; treatments rely on copper, sulfur, plant infusions, and biodynamic preparations. In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous, with minimal sulfites and no selected yeasts, extracting enzymes, clarifiers, or other products intended to alter the wine. Wines are aged in stainless steel, concrete, and oak, and are generally unfiltered. Sustainability extends to the winery, which uses solar and renewable energy, biomass heating, and wastewater treatment. The wines are intended to express their territory and be enjoyed at the table.
