Domaine de la Renière

France

Domaine de la Renière is a boutique estate in Saumur, Loire Valley, owned since 2018 by winemaker Thibault Masse with Guillaume Poitevin, the first proprietors outside the historic Gay family. Certified organic since 2021, the domaine farms Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and a little Chardonnay on chalk and limestone soils, with cover crops, gentle pruning, hand harvesting, winter sheep grazing and biodiversity plantings. In the cellar, Thibault Masse follows a low-intervention approach with spontaneous fermentations, limited malolactic conversion for whites, occasional sulfur use, and ageing in stainless steel, oak and amphora. The wines focus on freshness and terroir expression.
