Foxen is a family-owned estate in Santa Barbara County, California, founded in 1985 by Bill Wathen and Dick Doré. Now owned by Dick Doré, a great-grandson of William Benjamin Foxen, the winery works with vineyards in Santa Maria Valley and Sta. Rita Hills, including sites on historic Rancho Tinaquaic. Its approach combines SIP-certified sustainable farming, dry-farming reliant on natural rainfall, solar power, and minimal-intervention winemaking. The estate’s naturally lower yields are associated with concentrated wines, while its two tasting rooms present distinct selections, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Bordeaux, and Italian varieties. Foxen’s wines reflect a strong connection to Santa Barbara’s vineyards and the family’s long-standing history in the region.
