Fontanavecchia

Italy

Fontanavecchia is a family-run estate in Torrecuso, on the slopes of Monte Taburno in Campania’s Sannio Beneventano. Rooted in the late 19th century and now led by brothers Libero and Giuseppe Rillo, with Libero as the main winemaker, the winery focuses on native Campanian grapes including Aglianico and Falanghina. Vineyards on clay-limestone soils at hillside elevations are farmed with an emphasis on quality over quantity, using low yields, green harvesting and a generally minimal-intervention approach. The Rillo family’s work reflects strong respect for the land, local varieties and the identity of the Taburno area, with an environmentally conscious mindset but no formal certification noted.
