Produttori di Carema is a small, member-owned cooperative founded in 1960 by local growers in Piedmont's Carema DOC. Today, about 80–81 growers collectively farm roughly 17 hectares (≈42 acres) of steep, terraced vineyards, with most members owning only around 0.5 hectares each. The vineyards, a Slow Food Presidium, feature heroic viticulture on rocky, morainic slopes at 300–650 meters altitude, using unique stone pillars ('pilun') to support pergola trellises that moderate temperature swings. All wines are 100% Nebbiolo from local clones, aged a minimum of four years, including two in large oak or chestnut barrels. The cooperative focuses on traditional, terroir-driven winemaking, with production limited to the small Carema zone.
