Bodega Bideona

Spain

Bideona is a Rioja Alavesa estate founded in 2018 by winemakers Andreas Kubach and Sam Harrop. Working with a large number of small vineyard parcels, many planted with vines over 50 years old, the project is focused on expressing site through a terroir-driven, pre-industrial approach. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in stainless steel with indigenous and house-cultured yeasts, then aged briefly in a mix of steel, concrete, and new and used oak. Sustainability is a clear part of the estate’s identity, with organic certification noted alongside a commitment to preserving historic vineyards and ecosystems. Its vineyard base combines winery-held land, historic supplier parcels, and newly incorporated sites.
