Altamonte is one of Alto Adige’s oldest and smallest cooperative wineries, bringing together small growers in a region where vineyard ownership is highly fragmented. Its members work collectively while prioritizing quality over quantity. The vineyards, located from 220 to 900 metres across diverse soils, are farmed organically in practice, although no formal certification is specified. Altamonte’s cooperative structure allows growers to collaborate rather than produce and bottle independently, giving the winery a distinctly artisanal character.
