Doyard

France

Doyard is a family-owned Champagne grower based in Vertus in the Côte des Blancs, with vineyards in Vertus and several Grand Cru villages including Avize, Oger, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Aÿ. Founded by Maurice Doyard, the estate remains in family hands and is now run by Yannick Doyard and his son Guillaume, who serves as winemaker. Farming is environmentally focused, with horse work in the vineyards, no herbicides or pesticides since the early 1990s, low-yield pruning, and an ongoing move toward organic viticulture. The house is known for terroir-driven Champagnes, especially Blanc de Blancs rooted in Chardonnay, made with gentle pressings, vinification in stainless steel and oak, natural cold stabilization, and extended lees aging.
