Casa Nuova delle Cerbaie

Italy

Casa Nuova delle Cerbaie is a boutique, family-run estate in the Montosoli area of Montalcino, Tuscany, founded in the late 1970s and owned since 2008 by Roy Welland. Its vineyards lie in the northern sector of Montalcino at 250–350 meters, on mixed clay, galestro, and calcareous soils. Farming follows organic protocols and broader sustainable practices, though without formal certification. Harvesting is manual, with careful hand selection of fruit. In the cellar, the approach is traditional and low-intervention, with spontaneous fermentations and aging in 20–25 hl Stockinger oak casks. The estate is especially focused on Brunello, with occasional single-vineyard Montosoli Riserva bottlings.
