Mayacamas Vineyards

United States

Founded in 1889, Mayacamas Vineyards is a historic Mt. Veeder estate in Napa Valley known for mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Since the 1950s, its wines have followed a notably consistent, classical approach, including early harvests to preserve acidity, native-yeast fermentation, basket pressing, extended ageing in neutral oak and large old casks, and additional bottle age before release. The vineyards are dry-farmed and certified organic by CCOF, with biodynamic elements, sheep grazing, and cover crops reflecting a low-input farming philosophy. Owned by the Schottenstein family since 2017, the estate is now guided by Braiden Albrecht, continuing a traditional, age-worthy style rooted in long stewardship and the rugged terroir of Mount Veeder.
